Voting for the WAEVZ Top 50 is OPEN!

2021 has without a doubt been a landmark year for the Australian Hip-Hop, R&B and New Wave music scene. Talents from across the country have released a whole range of incredible songs and the ‘WAEVZ Top 50’ is a celebration of exactly that.

2021 in particular has shown how groundbreaking the talent coming out of this country truly is. The momentum that has long been built within this country is well and truly at its peak, with even further strides to be taken from here. And all of this has been achieved in spite of persistent interruptions and lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On that note, this is your chance to vote for your top 50 favourite Australian Hip-Hop, R&B and New Wave songs of the year. Each submission form contains 5 entries for 5 different songs.

Within the entry form list, you will find a variety of acts from across the country. But for artists who are not on the list, please note that there is an ‘Other’ tab within each entry form where you can vote for them. The WAEVZ Top 50 is open to all artists within this country’s scene who have dropped in 2021.

Here is a rundown of how it will all work:

Timeline

13th of December 2021 - Voting Commences

21st of January - Voting Ends at 5pm

29th of January - Countdown of the WAEVZ Top 50 Live Streamed via YouTube from 12pm alongside an event which will be hosted by us to celebrate 2021.

Rules

· All submissions must be Australian artists within the Hip-Hop, R&B and New Wave scene.

· You must only submit tracks that were released in 2021.

· One submission per person.

· Support the local talent making bangers at the moment.

The top 50 entries will feature on our page throughout the day of the countdown. We will be showcasing the artists and producers involved in making these tracks come to life.

The WAEVZ Top 50 will be counted down via a YouTube livestream on the day. Everyone will have access to this livestream. Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube to be notified when we go live.

We will be hosting an event on the day of the livestream where we invite the artists that make the WAEVZ Top 50 to celebrate the 2021 releases.

The top 5 songs will see artists receive a customised plaque to celebrate their placement and their amazing efforts throughout the year.

Lastly, we want to say thank you as well for not only supporting us throughout the year, but for giving this scene the energy and love it deserves through your support of these artists. So, get your votes in for what was a massive 2021, we know 2022 is going to be even bigger.
